You've obviously never watched a coon walk! I had one for his whole life. Depending how fast they are walking, they walk on their 'toes' of their back feet when they are walking fast. So, guess what the track is going to look like in the dirt?

Dean , I don't know why you made it personal but i not only went to second grade but went to first grade twice . I probably have as much if not more experience with coons and coonhunting as you . From the picture i'm seeing there is only four toes . If the guy that started the thread says theres five toes then so be it , but the ones i'm looking at has four .You look at the second picture down there are four toes not five ... four . And why are you getting upset over a post about tracks ?

It's become blatently obvious why so many guys have problems running trash.

Dean you really need to learn to relax . When ever you fill stressed just count to four or five if you want .

Not stressed, just shocked that some guys that call themselves houndsmen can't look at a track and identify it. Especially one as common as a coon.

Dean , when i was born i was so ugly that my mother could'nt stand looking at me , so she threw me in a ditch . Well along came an old mother coon and she dragged me back to her den tree where she raised me as one of her own . I had some great times with my coon family . We would raid cornfields , go noodleling for fish , beat up the farmers cats , climb trees , it was great . Of coarse to keep from getting lost ... not being able to smell as good as my coon family , i would have to follow their tracks . So has it , along came some loggers who happened to cut down our den tree . HOW FRIGHTENING ! Everyone took off leaving me there to defend by myself . The loggers caught me taking me to a rehab center to get civilized . From that day on i vowed that ,I WOULD KILL COON ! for leaving me . Now when i tree coon if there is more then one i'll kill all but one to let them know how i felt that day .The only habit i have left from living with the coon is every time i get near water i have to rub my hands in it and eating those funny MUSHROOMS we used to find .

There not coon or possum.. possum feet curl in and coon feet are long toed and back feet bigger than front.. A coons back foot looks like a babies foot print..

First pic.s, five toe's.. COON

The track that has five , the inside and outside toe are short , almost like mink . Not being familiar with the wildlife species there i honestly don't know . But don't think coon .There does seem to be two different type tracks . Carry on .

Skunks front feet come to a point and minks feet or prints are side by side with front being close to back as they move along similar to a inch worm. If you look closely you can see the back foot pad of the coon in the sand..

What about a fisher?
