Hey Dac, My wife took our wirehair (above) out to northern BC where she was working, the place was crawling with bears, didnt take the pointer long to bump into them, she even treed one lol but on the work site bears can be a safety issue as they are there feeding on the berries, and can taken by surprise, so she did her job in protecting the Mrs. I had some good fun treeing coons with this bitch out east, and she loves squirrel too. There isnt much she wont hunt!

Yeah she trees hard, and barks if sighted, Ive found them to be a keen enough dog, they will gladly hunt a track but only a couple of miles they are not hound ranged, they have a medium nose, fast on a hot scent, and silent until sighted. They are tough, but also have sense of self preservation with big game.
