Are there even any hunting line's of Airedales any more I thought the hunting line's were gone I looked at the BMC even had one that was my best coon dog but I was thinking that for letting you know when game is coming they would be wanting to go after it or with trapped game they would want to kill it I don't know anything about cataholua or blue lacy can they be used to let you know when something is coming or track a drag trap without wanting to chase or kill how would they do for a shed dog I was one of the reasons I was looking at a gun dog

I'm a little confused not trying to be rude or anything but you started with Gundogs x bulls which is a breeding that is made to give you a really rough hunting dog, but then you say you don't want a dog that will kill it? But then in the statement above you ask if the airedales are from hunting lines, but you don't want a dog to chase it. Well all hunting dogs will want to chase it because that in essence is what hunting is. If you just want a dog to track or let you know when something is around get a dachshund, they make good blood tracking dogs (good nose), wont chase and even if they do won't catch it. So I would definitely say dachshund for sure.

Damnit I just lied. It was a cat over a patt female actually. It looked just like one o them merled up dachsunds though so I always forget it wasn't one. Her 2 brothers that I had were rock stars but them lil bastards wouldn't stay home and they disappeared. They were built totally different than her. Looked like big ole tall racey patterdales. They were perfectly built.

Here is a picture of the lil male dogs when they were just babies. Wish I had a pic of them when they got a bit older standing up so you could see how athletically built they were. The sister was like the 180 degree opposite build.

Dan those are cool little pups. I really like Patterdales, they are gamey little SOB's. Just curious, if you don't mind what made you want to make that cross?

I was being serious about dachshunds because I watch the hunting channel all the time and they always have guys with Dachshunds blood tracking their deer. If you can get over the thought of a dachshund they would be perfect for this guy. They are small and easy to tote, don't eat much, smart, too slow to catch anything, and have a good nose. Just saying :)

I know you were serious. I was too. I know some folks that still hunt them in the ground. Anyhow, we didn't make the cross. The lil gyp was in heat at a buddy of a buddy's house and his catahoulaxbulldog cross bred her. I also forgot he was part bulldog. I cant remember stuff like this too well.

I don't have a picture of the sire or dam to them pups but I did find a picture of the sire's littermate brother. He was a bulldog x Catahoula cross. The parents were hog dogs of course. Anyhow, this is the littermate to the sire of them pups. Prolly one of the smartest best actin pups I ever owned. I loved this lil fella.

Those are some great looking dogs Dan. I know a guy who loves using cat bulldog crosses for catchdogs.
