Last year after our deer season was over ( I thought) I had some young dogs in the woods trying to run a fox. A young warden stopped me afer daylight and wanted to know what I was hunting. I told him fox. He told me I was in violation of a new law that stated no fox hunting after daylight during a special bow season that had been installed that year in our area. I told him it wasn't in the pamphlet and he said it was a new season posted on the Internet. He had to call his supervisor to come give him some advise. Nice young officer but had no idea what fox hunting was. He asked how I cooked them and I explained what fox hunting was. He didn't believe that anything like that really happened. Nobody would go listen to dogs run a fox. I'm 77 and have watched the hunting I have always known come and go without realizing it. I doubt if there will ever be any game law passed in favor of ( dog chase) ever again in Louisiana. Better get as much in as you can, it's fading fast.
I’m only 30 and grew up in a the last of the dog hunting culture in our area, it’s a tough pill to swallow but I’m afraid your right, as urban sprawl steadily encroaches further and further northward, before long south LA will be one big city from the eastern state line around Slidell all the way to the western state line around lake Charles including the entire i-10/12 corridor, I’ve watched land prices and leases sky rocket in my life and all that being as close as I am to Baton Rouge and New Orleans and I’m 2 hours away from there but this is the closest place for them to “get away”, it’s ridiculous what goes on in this state, entirely to much for me to sit here and type, and bunch of stuff that makes absolutely no common sense what so ever, but hey they got that degree, and that gives them more ground than us smarter and more simplified country folk...

Last week is a good example, why this November election will shape the future.
