Is it in stone? Did the governor sign the bill?

Passed everything, headed to the Governors desk for him to sign.

Any update on this? I am not finding anything new besides it passed. Have they started setting up dates for a season? Or was this legislation one of those yes you can run your dogs here is a law stating it but now it's up to the DNR to allow it?

They haven't finalized or published anything yet, but the proposal is to allow hounds during the Spring Black Bear Season with areas that are deemed "high risk" of Grizzly encounters off limits to hounds. They had been holding hearings and accepting comments before finalizing the regulations due to plans to broadly change the big game permits. The only part generating much controversy was the proposed Elk regulation changes.

Any updates on how the non resident hound permit will work??

Well if they don't change the rules they put in place for nonresidents a few years ago to run dogs on lion in that state they give out 50 nonresidents hound permits a year that you have to apply for like a lottery like idaho. But the difference is I think you have to buy the lion tag before you can apply. I could be wrong but that is how I read it. Hopefully they make it a bit more nonresident friendly
