i bet flour is more sterile- than the black mud i had to use on my pup one time :)

I actually always used corn starch, not flour. I guess thats what I was taught. Either way, a thickening agent of some kind is important. Especially if you hunt around barbed wire.

We have some of that powdered blood clotting stuff, can remember what its called. We had to break down and buy a bottle, one of our bluedogs is accident prone. I told my boyfriend that would should just start calling her crash. I dont know if I like the stuff that well though, she tore the tip of her ear off a while back and we dipped it in that stuff, but as soon as she shook her head it was bleeding again. :x

Was it NFZ powder in a yellow bottle? That is what we use.. Work on pink eye for cows, as an antibiotic and works to clot blood.. Where ever Brisco goes, a bottle goes with him..

I swear that accidents just look for him, then see, him, jump him and beat the hell out of him :roll:

will have to look and see what it said on it . i know last nite we work on a red dog and used a 1/4 cc on her to sew her up about 8 inchs need a little more aces but got by with a 1/4 cc. i know a friend give 4 cc to a dog it was a little to much took him a day to come all the way out of it.

It comes in a tall white plastic bottle. I think it is ment for cattle.

seran rap.....vet rap...them are a plus....if a dog rips his guts open seran rap will help hold it all back together till you get to the vet....i have some of that vet tape to....$1.00 a role from the feed store....and a bottel of nochew from walmart....
