I was wondering how long this thread would make it before it ended up in the cage...for those that don't like reading the BS, please skip this post!
catdogs with your outfitting how many returned clients do you get with 0% success?
wrbutler, if anyone wants to know the numbers of cats I put up in a year, they are plumb outta luck cuz I ain't divulgin' that information. As for the 0% kill, the reason it is 0% is because: 1. I haven't had any non-resident hunters draw a tag last year, one hunter this year that did, cancelled, and 2. I don't book resident hunters and 3. I don't do FREE lion hunts!!!! Do you know how the system works? Anytime a non-resident has to draw a tag for something, they are limited to 10% of the quota, not even guaranteed 10%, (they could get none) so in order for a non-resident to get a tag in a unit, there has to be at least a quota of 10 lion in order for a non-resident to get one tag (which like I said earlier, he might get one but there is no chance of more than 1) Now, since a lot of the 200 hd's don't have a quota of 10 or better, the FWP will combine a few so there is a quota of 10 for the group of hd's then, they will rotate different units around as to which hd that non-res tag is good for. Soooo...... not only are my chances of a non-resident hunter drawing a tag extremely slim, but to have that one tag good for a unit in which I am permitted to hunt in is even slimmer!! Now I know you are one dumb POS, so that is why I have taken this time to explain it to you. While I'm at it, I might as well clarify some more mis-information for you. In an earlier post, you said:
It seems it was the outfitters who wanted these special permits when i attended some of the fwp commisioner meeting. i dont know of a houndsmen who was for this action. The way I see it is these special tags are again just another restriction on this sport. Whats the difference if a outfitter travels to open districts (regions 3-7)to fill a clients tag , than myself looking for a lion in a new special district.
So, why on earth would the outfitters be for permits??? (now, like I said in another post, I am ok with the new permit system because I never took many cat hunters to begin with and I woud just as soon not kill 'em anyway.) Secondly, we can't just up and "travel" to open districts! We are permitted to hunt in certain areas with specifec geographic boundaries, it's not just a free for all state wide, unless of course, you are doing hunts for free! If you have any further questions, feel free to give me a call.

Again, sorry to you Buddy, you'll probably have to move this one too. :?

catdogs i do know the laws that outfitters have in mt, you didnt need to explain to me the situation for you and other outfitters. the only reason i ask is because you chewed on me earlier in the year on simple facts i was trying to get others to realize. there was no need to make that post into what it turned into. so calm down about a simple question that i ask of u. if u still want me to call u let me know and we can work this out.

Butler when you first got on this board and posted your thread about the free Mtn. lion hunt, I gave you the benefit of the doubt. But you just can't seem to stop running your mouth.

What are your simple facts that you stated earlier? That catdogs chewed on you for.

That it is the outfitters that are for permits. Or was it that the FWP is against all hounddoggers?

You asked Catdogs a question. He gave you an explanation as to why he is at 0% kill. Not that there needs to be an explanation but you were trying to be a smart ass with that question.

Lucky for you he is at 0% because you wouldn't have anything to run if he went to killing. He has caught more cats in a week than you have all year.

Have a nice day.

No kills- treed a couple so far, but here in Washington (the furthest north county in CA) my permit allows chase but not kill. That's fine with me...how many cats do you really need to kill anyway. i always figured I would try to get a big tom one day, but I won't kill any until then
