If the dogs stay at the hole till you get their then why are you even considering culling!! Its a den at least in my mind its acceptable!! Dogs that need culling are dogs that fight other dogs on tree or bay and dogs that won't stay treed!! If your worried about them running off game use trashbreaking scents on them if you think you know what their running!! If you think their backtracking get some coon training scent and set a trail it will tell you the truth!! I had a dog that backtracked and did all the bad stuff above I mentioned!! Give your dogs more chance they don't sound like bad eggs!! Heck you might want to try a different breed in your area a cur that runs silent track might be a good option!! The coon won't have much option other than get up or down in something quick!!Rem700 wrote:My english female is 3 and she's just really turning on this year, she'll still tree porkies, but she's a strong tree dog on coon so i can tell when she's lying to me, i made her a show champ and she'll be a grand water champ soon, and i'll try for field champ this year yet, maybe next year she'll be ready for the night hunts.....if i had given up on her two years ago i would have missed out on alot of fun, and thats what it's really about, isn't it?
