I enjoy them, natural rig dogs, gritty, strong tree dogs good looks and loud vocals. The downside to these dogs is that they are loud puppies seem to not work out for peaple with close neighbors, they mellow out around a year old.
Of course the blues I run have a dash of Hurricane In them for a little extra speed and tree power. I just have not found the complete package hound for me with the full Camerons.

I got me a pup from Steve a couple months ago. Tell ya what Steve has got to be one of the most professional guys I have dealt with when purchasing a pup, he is very up-front and open and tells it like it is, I already have the wife talked into another one when I can get the money up for it. The pup I got from him hadn't been home for 3 days, wife let the housecat in and boy he took right after it was baying up on it while the thing rested on the back of the couch. He's gonna be a dang fine hound I'm sure.

Well maybe I will have to go with Steve since everyone seems to have nothing but good things to say about him. I am also going to get one from Jim to keep the blood lines a long ways apart as I want to breed my own, not necessarily to sell but after my buddies see mine in action they are going to want one. I get asked once in awhile if my female that I got from the shelter is fixed and of course I have to say yes.... I talked to Jim on the phone and he seems pretty upfront as well and tells it like it is, no bsing just a nice guy to talk to. At least that was my case

Yeah I agree, I would really like to see some of Jim's or Steves dogs from the High Lonesomes to the Crazy Cascade Camerons. I think mine is from Jim's stock but its too hard to tell, may get another Cameron from the same shelter but this one is pretty damn timid and has been beaten worse thent he last 2 dogs I got, she bayed up on a cat I have been told for like 12 mins before she got pulled off. We'll see if I end up getting her or not, might have to wait till I move because I dont have much room as of right now. But back on subject lets see some of those dogs!

Well heres mine. She is the most well behaved dog I think ive owned, hound or not, plus she always wants to hunt, she actually killed one of my ferrets which I was upset about but what could I do, she was trained to hunt. Miss my ferret though Got her from a shelter, cant tell if she was one of steves dogs, or one of Jim's but I think she fits as a Cameron and hunts like one, as far as Ive heard:

BucNaze,
Your female definitely has a lot of Cameron in her, if not full. She has the coloration and build. Their voices are distinct, as well. They are also hard tree dogs and not afraid to mix it up on the ground. Hard telling what type of early training your female had, but if you keep pouring good game to her, she might turn out dang good. She's definitely a good looking dog and worth taking a risk on, especially if she is well-mannered. All of the well-bred Camerons I have seen have excellent dispositions, and are easy to train and trash break. I like a dog to be as good with the family as he is in the woods. The Camerons do well in both capacities with some basic training.

Well she definetly picks up on things easily. She has learned to run coon and bear since I got her in late winter, tried her on one old bobcat track in the late winter that was from early in the morning and we found it in the evening and she opened up some but couldnt track it a long ways. She is/would be a super good family dog. Took her out this morning, she didnt strike on anything (she has already learned to strike and wont open on trash like some of the other dogs might), and as you explained she is super easy to trash break, when I first got her my buddies dog opened up on a deer that we thought was a coon, well of course my dog smoked it but his dog didnt take to the track and knew she was in trouble later, well after that I had a old deer skull that I found while shed hunting, still had some hide on it, and just told her no deer a few times after I let her smell it and she wanted nothing to do with it. Drove by 2 deer today, 1 at 50yds and one at about 5-10yds, the closests one she didnt even look at or anything, the first one she looked at and it got her attention but she knew now to open up on it and after I told her "no deer" she didnt even look at it. From my understaning she is full Cameron. I have had people that knew her previous owner and what not. But its still hard to be 100% sure, but she acts as if she fits the bill for being a full Cameron

Found another Cameron at a shelter that I may get. The lady says that he doesnt like cats and that he is pretty determined (my cameron is possibly the most determined dog that Ive seen), also he hasnt been beaten it seems because he doesnt seem shy at all she said, or timid which is good. I turned one of my timid dogs from the shelter into a decent bear dog so far, he will need another year or so but it doing pretty good for never being hunted before. Heres a pic of him, tell me if you think he fits the bill:

Makes a guy wonder what these Camerons are all doing at shelters. Weird.

Ive only found 2 at shelters. Mine was leading the pack on all three bear races on Friday and already runs bears and coons, also she took a bobcat track late last winter that was about 6 hours old, didnt bark on it too much but that was her first bobcat ever and she did the same thing on her first coon and now she's pretty good. Supposedly this Cameron (Hank) was found just wandering around, could of been hunted and just got lost and the houndsmen never found him. Who knows, cant know till you try, my Cameron from the shelter is turning into a damn good bear dog and wants to go all the time. Also I live in PNW and found this Cameron in the Iowa, took me months of looking to find another one at a shelter
