I am getting ready to brand some dogs but I need to know how long to hold the brand on ears with liquid nitrogen?

Josht I would not go more than a few seconds. I got some bad info the first time I did ears with nitrogen and believe me I felt like a real dumb a@#. Live and learn I guess, but ya ears are thin and delicate 3-4 seconds.

You should try tongs

Maybe they just teach you to use them when you go for your masters

Devin,
Just in between sheep hunts, great posts and info!
I have a small iron made of steel, will it work or do I need to buy a copper or brass iron? If it'll work what kind of results or issues will I have?
Thanks,
Al

Sorry Al, I have been in Montana for the last week.
Steel wont get cold enough. What you might want to do is send or fax a picture of it to Lh and H and they will get you one built.
