Interesting fact boys. Although I don't savvy some of this , many of the best cold trailers I have seen out west, and Oh by the way I live out west and have seen several. Many of these dogs have had very little stop, less than square profile and rather high set ears . These however have proven to be some of the best cold trailers. I have seen some of these type dogs take tracks which were better than 12 hours old in dust on a hot cow trail at 95 deg. and move them for half a day jump the cat and tree it.
A lot of smoke and mirrors out there about cold trailing dogs but with one of this type you won't get puckered when they say ok before we seal the deal we want you to put your dog down with ours.
That is my challenge to those who wish to buy and old time cold nosed type dog. Bring the best you have ever seen or that your buddy has and let the seller put their dogs down with your and then let the chips fall where they.
Matter of fact I think we should start a new topic about ( lets see what they can do), if you want to sell.
What do you think? Will it fly?
Let me know , or us know. Adios gotta go cook carnitas...

Right on there John!
The vast majority of people are enjoying what you post very much. These pics and letters are private and personal. No one asked for you to post them, but you do out of respect. Respect is one thing americans seem to have bred out of our society.

You are right, you don`t know what I am trying to say. I have done my share of keeping his memory alive, including sharing many of the Bill Green photo`s that you see on this and other forums, in the blue book and with those who ask to see them. I know he was a intense, hard hunter and had some great blooded hounds. My only interest is the rewriting of history that is going on,the deminishing the influance of men like Sides, Grant , Vaughan and others, the puffing of the influance of others. However, I realize my time is being wasted.
I have been following hounds for 60 years, have a well respected line of hounds that is 52 years old and have treed my share of game, no, I have no need to be jealous of any hound breeder. Bob Mattscheck

Nobody is diminishing the influence of anyone...Bow, I for one and grateful that you are posting your pics, letters, etc online. I really appreciate it. It's pretty cool to learn about Bill and what he did and the life he led. Bow, anyone's grandpa should be their hero! Thanks again Bow.

I enjoy the info as well and appreciate the time you donate displaying it for us. as for the behavior its pretty much a fact that regardless what you say or do on this site someone will have a more informed opinion they want to share to enlighten you. It's not a one size fits all world as things all ways vary, but there's a lot on here who believe there's ONE hunter, hound, style, voice, firearm, game, region etc. etc. and if you don't prescribe to their specific "religion" then by god you are completely stupid and backwards. I guess I'd rather hear about someone who did it successfully. then hear someones opinions and assumptions. please continue the updates

Bob, I think sometimes history has to be rewrote because it is human nature to forget and as time passes, things get distorted or forgotten. Those foundation breeders you spoke of are at the top of the list. I would bet that most of the dogs Bill started with came from their blood. We owe those foundation breeders the very existance of the bluetick breed. Along the path of time their have been others that have made a contribution and they deserve to be talked about. The process of doing so is not an attempt to defame or discredit the great foundation breeders in any way. However as you well know, not everything that has been written or said in the past by most has been truthful, which complicates the issue.
