rebel2 wrote:Whats your deal deal B/T???? Did you have to churn on this subject for a week to come back on and bash me some more????? Seems to me you like bashing everyone even kasner who doesnt say boo and keeps to himself. I killed my tom a day before TJ got here, been after him for 3 years now. BIG CAT. not a young tom, my dad took my uncle out with his hounds I merely accompanied them, yet again big mature tom. Scar face, any houndsmen would love to have the privledge with scar face that cat missed book by 2/16 if im correct, I could ask the guy that shot it again. And no the group of guys i hunt with aint the same guys that killed scar face. used to but i dont need that B.S anymore so I fled that group. Once again the topic is female killers not tom killers. So way are you branding ppl for killing mature toms. You obviously you know who I am. one day I will see who you are. As for the numbers if you were ever at a hound club meeting at the end of the year we go through all the kills and problem areas. You know which outfitters have hounds and which ones kill what, as its the smae groups of guys killing imature tom and and females avery year. I dont know who holds the permit only the goverment does, my statement was I know 3 guys that do and 1 tom was killed. yes you are right that locals killed more females. Id like to know how many females get killed in elk season with tag holders. We are trying to get a tom quota but there is no pull with the same 16 guys at the meetings.Maybe you should come and voice you opinion like you do on here, might get us the season we ALL want.
Huh more interesting stuff, no didnt churn about anything, like I said hadnt seen any harvest numbers so was waiting till I did.
Not bashing anyone dont know where you get that, I congratulated bayupcrazy and made a comment to him that only he would understand he actually got a laugh about it ,sorry that it offends you that you didnt know what its about. You come on saying that a couple outfitters are killing females and that there will be non left then you call a group of other hunters slob hunters to me thats kinda bashing someone.
The topic is female cats and the killing of them and how it hurts things and I have said its not just the killing of the females that is the problem in certain areas. You your self say the outfitters are killing all the females but seems like you found a fair number on TJs hunt doesnt sound like a shortage but more a shortage of older class toms. Like I said before a lot of those toms gave some nice runs, and thats my choice to leave them and I know the odds are that when I leave a tree theres a good chance he will get shot if he crosses a road again. Im not branding any body for taking cats just saying certain groups take the majority. If im reading this right you say you use to run with a bad group but not no more so maybe the groups you are worried about will someday change. Sorry wont be joining your club to much bashing goes on there for me.
Remember have fun at the trials and watch out for that little red dog of bayupcrazys I heard it is doing good but maybe that is what happens when you sleep with your dog.And thats not a bashig Im sure he will understand the joke from his TV days if he remembers what he said.

One thing I think we need to look at is the prices of hunting licenses and tags in Utah. I believe that for all species they are way out of hand. It makes it hard for some guys to eat a tag when it's costing as much as it is. Some of that goes with fuel costs too but there is nothing dwr can do about those. A person can literally go hunt as a non resident in other states for bobcats less than they can hunt as a resident in Utah for. It's pathetic.

Dang just when I think I have it figured it out, Houndawg blows a big hole through my my overloaded brain. How about this, riggin hounds along the shoreline of Lake Powell while fishing? I saw a few lion tracks while I was on my sheep hunt down there in 06. If the dogs rig one (however in the hell that works) I could let them off and continue fishing until they tree one. Well maybe bay it up not many trees down there.
Only problem is I need a DD for the boat, now that you can get a DUI for driving the boat while fishing I need a driver that I can stand to drive my boat for the day. I do have one buddy that I can put up with, but now he will have to be crosstrained in hound dog boat rigging.

I suppose you are correct in saying Warner knows it all and couldn't learn anything from my buddy Ike. Warner has probably been rigging lions off the box longer than that Ike guy has been living huh? I just figured to give dawg and muleburt some of their own chit back cause they surely deserve it!!!!

You know what they say, what's good for the goose is good for the gander!!!

The DWR doesnt care about the lions their going to keep increasing tags.
If you are a houndsman and you tell me about the lion you killed and say anything to the effects of --- I got a lion, it was a good one, it was way up the tree I thought it was bigger, it was the only one I could find, it was a pretty one, if I didnt kill it some one else will, we were running out of time.
If you dont start your story and dont autimaticly say it was a good tom it was a female, If you half to make excuses your not proud of it so why kill something your not proud of.
Morral of the story is the DWR is after the lions and the excuse makers are the reason we have no Lions to hunt.
lets pull our heads out and get some air so we can think clear
