Two years ago we lost a pup and his Dad to the same bear .We could hear the rukus but my son was on the scene and witnessed it .You never know what a bayed bear will do .In the end 3 shots were fired .When we went back to camp and skun the bear we found 4 bullet holes .We can only sumise that that bear was shot at by one of the sports in an outfitters camp the last week of bait season .we checked with 2 outfitters that told us they both had sports that shot during the last week and the bears were never recovered ,Perhaps this may have been 1 of them .this bear had had 1 shot in the gut and during the skinning process it really stunk. Bad enough that we did not even feed any of it to the hounds.
