Well Folks the "Jungle Telegraph" has whispered that Ole Mark has fallen for the Bait.
He is headed to the Woods tonight with both the Lamborghini and the Bugatti. Tomorrow we should get a believable Tale of what is going on in the Great North West!
Good Luck Guys!

Im back . Mark, it was a pleasure to sit in the truck listening to 6 hours of barking dogs. The dogs gave 100% on both races and came up short. That is pretty common around here for me. If there was a critter that i would put against ANY pack of dogs that first one we ran would be it. I have ran him/her on several occations and had the same result as the one we had. Nights like last night are the reasons i do this. We had a blast telling stories and listening to dogs work there guts out, on a critter that was the Michael jordan of the species. The best part about this is its still there to test the dogs.

JC, although none of us would like a steady diet of cats like that, i do enjoy and appreciate the things they can put a dog through. What impressed me most last night was how the dogs that have never been ran together before all had the same goal of catching that cat and working together do it. Add the fact that the oldest dog there was 4 years old and everything else half that age and less. There were several times in the race when the outcome could of been different i believe. They were roasting him/her pretty good. It always amazes me how dogs can figure out everything a cat throws at them for 1-2 hrs and then seems to just vanish in mid air. I guess thats what fuels this sickness we call cat hunting.
Anyways thanks again guys for the hunt and the BS i had a blast.
Mr Clay: theres the facts lol. I sure hope your dad and you make it out this fall, looking forward to talking with ya! Maybe you can grab ol Sloooooowandeasy on your way through.

Andy, I've been in on the best races I've ever heard over in that country with running, ducking, dodging, tight circling, cats...... The cats where I live are plain easy compared to some of those track stars. I would give both my cajones to have cats run like that here! The cats here line out for quite a ways ( kinda like a drag race ) then make one circle and usually tree right where they hit their back track.....Really not that tough to be honest. I have never had the pleasure of listening to a 1-2 hr jumped race here but there you can go to the spot where there's " The one" and find out if Lady Luck is on your side that day. I can also promise you it's not the dogs either because these guys culls are at the top of my list as the ones to keep feeding...... If you ever get the opportunity to come out here and hunt with any one of these guys I would highly recommend it, You can bet the ranch i will be every chance I get!

Mark, I thought the same thing. Dont know how many times I have tried to mix dogs, only to see a train wreck. But that didnt happen. The dogs worked well together, better than I thought they would have. We didnt catch, but their is so much to be said for dogs that run together, lose together and all come out together.
That critter is a freak, Dogs can have it going their way so good that one cant help but be thinking catch. Then lose some ground, and never get it back. That one dosent spend much time hunkering down its always putting ground on the dogs if it can. Someday its luck will run out, but it wont be in a tree.
If we get a little weather come back down and we will make another run at him. Thanks for the good time, man you've got some balls, it was cool meeting another cat hunter. John.

Since this started out as the "Shady Tricksters" thread i have to come clean with you guys. You see i didnt want to come down there and get outrun by your dogs. So seeing that i had a female in heat at the house i collected some urine up and gave that little trigg looking female i brought down a good long bath in it. I knew when all those dogs got to smelling her that they would chase her. I know she has decent speed and likes to circle around and play in the rocks a little so i knew we wasnt going to catch anything. That little female had to run hard to keep away from those males but it sure was fun listening to the commentary on the race, i had a hard time containing my laughter. So john i think that me be why those dogs stuck together so good.
Well im off to the car lot to buy a van so i can load my buddies up and hit some new honey holes i found over the weekend. By now
