Where I got my last dog from it was 90 each but I got both of my hounds for $150 since I took both of them. Both are turning out pretty good, but my Cameron is just a lot better. My other dog has pulled some hair and is starting to trail a lot better but has a long ways to go to catch up to her. Im thinking this dog is going to be the same price, give or take some. But Ill have to get him shipped to me, either by place or truck, dont know if UPS does something like that or any other mail carrier. Im kind of waiting till my house is built with everyone, dont wan to have 4 hounds in town, plus a mutt dog

BUCKNAZE If these dogs are making you happy I say good . hunt them till you drop. alot of people buy hounds for reasons other then hunting, like long ears, sad eyes, they saw a bloodhound sprawled across the porch in some movie. Then when they start exhibiting hound behaviors high energy treeing things out of boredom etc. they get rid of them. or they get out of the yard. I had a agreement with my local dog catcher at one time to bring any hounds by my house and I would hunt them until I had a good idea of what they could do. If they worked out fine if not they went back. a good portion where decent dogs some not. the problem arose when it started to get ridiculous with the number of dogs she dropped of some might have had hound in their sixteenth generation.

Haha I told the dog catcher the same thing but he doesnt know where I live, if he had one Im sure he would let me know. He had a walker pup one time and I told my buddy that I would of taken it but never got a chance to tell the dog catcher, think he had to put it down because of how sick it was, just got dumped in the woods or something. So far my $75 dogs are turning out good. Gonna put the money up later for some pups but why not help the shelter out and see how they'll do, cant hurt and on sites like petfinder.com they tell you if they dont like cats or not, its at least a start in my opinion, just dont get them if you plan on having them inside or where they can get to cats obviously. Plus a local shelter thats about an hour and a half away is pretty much specifically for hound dogs and I have kept in contact with her. You have any of those dogs you got turn out to be one of your best dogs that you've had pegleg? Are you particular to any breed or does it not matter as long as they'll hunt? I have a Cameron Female, Walker/Bluetick Male, and a Walker/Redtick pup that is all red with walker patches and some redticks on this legs

No I can't say any turned out to be one of my top hounds."I can say the for some of the most expensive to" I got some that turned out good though. I'm not stuck on anyone breed I've not had that luxury but the dogs I currently run are for the most part all line bred. and hunt alright for me but I'm not as particular as some and that maybe my down fall . I raise a litter of pups once every few years or so and hunt them all for a season or two. then decide on what makes it or not. my criteria being they can catch their own cat on occasion and handle well I want a hound that has a deep hot desire to trail cats but can think while doing it . same at the tree they must tree/bay well but know when I say let's go or get back to move it. This has led to one problem in my dogs, they don't like strangers and are a one man type dog it's not that they wouldn't hunt if turned out by someone else but it is hell for some one else to control them.but since I don't sell dogs it's not a real problem either. I think this mind set makes them better for me as I can't drag a pack of dogs safely out of a canyon or off a cliff. I know some guys say they wouldn't want a dog that could be called off a track or tree. I hate dragging a dog out only to have it slip away and go back. so I work hard to make dogs that have their basic commands down and are much more pleasant to hunt. I did get a couple bloodhound x catahulas from the pound that evolved into a whole other story. anyway the best of luck to you and do try and give those dogs plenty off hunting time. everyone rembers that great dog they had when they were a kid. what made that dog so great ? I believe most of it was the sheer amount of time we spent with them as kids we had nothing more important then hunting. just ask your parents

Id like to hear from Liontracker on his best dog that he had that was a Cameron and what the dog was like. I know liontracker breeds Camerons as well, from what Ive heard, just like a little more info from him on what he likes/dislikes about them.

Lets see, my best Cameron - Likes: almost everything. Dislikes: almost nothing.
Seriously, if I could, the only thing I would change, would be: more relaxed in the kennel.
She has an extreme prey drive -runs to catch every time.
Best traits:
1. Cold Nosed
2. Wicked fast on a bad track
3. Super intelligence
4. No Quit
5. Easy to handle
6. Catches almost everything she starts
I'd be affraid to change her much, for fear it would blow up.

Sounds like an awesome dog liontracker! I wish I would of got my female before she was 5yrs old and didnt have to start teaching an adult dog, but she catches on so quick you would think that she hunted those first 5 yrs. I just wish she moved a coon track faster, she does good on a bear but coons isnt her speciality thats for sure but she gets the job done good enough for me I suppose. She also doesnt have the coldest nose but cant work a semi-old track/
