i have to say it. Terry clearwater- if every hounds man ran there hound on house cats every single day, or struck off baits three times a week there dogs would be good to.I feel people like him should not be looked at as good for the sport. I have hunted with him and had one of his dogs that he sold. he was no better then others i have hunt.He shoots everything he can lions bears and bobcats season or not lets see him do it legal like some of the rest of us.His name should not even be mentioned by someone less you want the coppers to start looking at you like the did him. besides who takes 3500 for a dog then tells the guy he cant have the dog .or takes money from a 70 year old man for training but never does anything with the dog. go do some more crank asshole Yes terry is a man of VERY high ethics. some of his partners to like chris still owes me money for dogs he never paid for. You can keep those people on that side of the hill.

I can't even believe I am going to go here...

First of all.. I don't like the way Terry has done things.. I don't agree with it.. Don't like it and won't have nothing to do with him and haven't for YEARS..(I'm being nice here) But, I will admit 2 of my dogs came out of his Bohdi dog.. And if you to say that Bohdi was not one of the best bobcat dogs to come out of this state then you are crazy..

My ex has hunted with these two dogs all over the west.. Oregon, Utah, Colorado, Montana etc.. They are some of the toughest cat dogs he has seen.. If they weren't he would have gotten some of what was better.. I will stick with this line of dogs and so will he..He also says out of all the houndsmen he has met, none have had the dog knowledge that Terry does.. well maybe one.. but he hunts blueticks and lives in Idaho now ;)

Terry just wasted it.. did stupid things.. Like I said, I don't like or agree with what he did/does and I can't stand the people he hunted with.. And now karma has come back around on him.. Can't say I'm sorry to see it.. but he knows dogs and had some damn good ones...

And I'm not saying he is better then anyone mentioned on these posts.. He had a great bobcat dog....

You can't judge a dog by his owner.

brett williams had good dogs i will agree, but as did terry wilson in cali. ike garcia, benny stuble, stan wickersham, ralph cummins, kenny dresson and list goes on they never had to torcher fluffy the 8 year old house cat to make them, that is houndsmanship i gaurentee if i put my blue dogs or my finley river walker on that many house cats they would be better. but make a dog the humane way not torching house c ats , thats a sign of a good trainer.

Turk was NOT a bobcat dog... Damn nice dog.. But not a bobcat dog..

I've seen Bohdi run a deer across the road and end up under a bobcat.. He was a bobcat dog..

My Mabel dog is probably even better then Bohdi was (she's a daughter of him) and she's never seen a housecat.. We just started hunting her...

And like I said.. I never said Terry was the best bobcat hunter out there.. I know actually bobcat hunters who are a lot better bobcat hunters then he was.. He had one of those freaky bobcat dogs.. And it is a good LINE of dogs.. I'm not saying anything about his training methods.. I'm talking dogs..

Regardless of owner, I will give credit to a dog when the dog deserves it..

And that is all I am going to say about that..

Well i think we both have diffrent opions on whats a cat dog, because i hunted that dog and treed of 40 cats (during season ) over here on the east side, where the cats dont just run a couple hundred yards and tree. He is a cat dog, so was my dog. turk did good on just about any kinda terrian or conditions. But the dogs on that side of the hill have it easier then ours do. The person who was the best in his day was ART COOPER, and yes if it was not for him doing it for so long those dogs we are talking about would not of even been mentioned because the both trace back to ART'S dogs. Anyway i am over this topic, everyone is intitled to there own opinion.

I though Mike Kemp bred for bear dogs, not bobcat.

Thanks Tim.. These dog's don't get pushed enough on bobcat during the winter since Nick always takes them and guides with them.. I've been told by bobcat hunters (some even mentioned in this thread) that my dogs are wasted down there in Utah and Colorado.. They should be back up here catching more bobcats then they do.. But when an outfitter's numbers double when Nick and the dogs go to work.. They give him enough incentive to keep coming back ;)

And just to set everyone straight since I have gotten quite a few emails on this the last week or so..

These dogs that I have which are out of Terry's Bohdi dog.. Do NOT go back (or at least Bohdi does not) to Art's stuff or Charlie Tant's stuff..

I have talked to some people who know these dogs and know Terry.. These dogs are very heavy House bred.. I have the 6 gen ped on Bohdi's dam (he should have been a registered dog)> she is House and Hershberger bred.. Bohdi's sire was a PR registered dog out of Dan Deppen's stuff.. That is House and Finley River...

I know a Dan Deppen in Etna, CA (thats just South of the border). I know him pretty well but I don't know much about his dogs...I'll have to give him the heads up that his name was mentioned on the "who has the best bobcat dogs in the northwest" thread! :D
