i put dogs on 2 cats this year in northern wisconsin. the first one weighed 32# and the second was 42#. both shot on the ground fighting the dogs. i have pictures but don't know how to post them yet. i'm new at this.

I was thinking I would call you. I hear you are all caught up and I would get a good mount back.
I hope you can find some time to come over and hunt next year. I would like to watch some of those high powered west coast cat dogs in action. Have you been out much?

Yaak attack i ended up hunting over a 100 days this winter so i got out a lot. great year to bring up a couple of young dogs. i have a new e-mail i will pm it to you. take care.

out in NORTH CAROLINA they rarely get over 25 pounds the last one i shot was 17 pounds

Thanks Budd, i didn't get to hunt as much as i wanted too. we only had 2 tags and we got lucky and found some good tracks. the 2 dogs we used are 11 and 12 years old and they won't be around forever so i want to get something else started. i have another little female plott that will run cats too but she also like the coyotes a little too much for a straight cat dog. she's got a hell of a nose on her but i run her on the coyotes to keep her in shape. we'll be talking soon.

Some real nice cats, anything 30 pounds and up here I consider a toad, and nothing beats looking up and seeing one, except hearing it hit the ground, of course.
