bells do not help against wolves. many dogs with bells have been killed now. but i find them very helpful for catching dogs. plus you know if theres something coming at you that doesnt have a bell on then its not a dog.

Sorry for the loss of your hounds, here in PA we have no wolves to worry about, but i'm always afraid my dog will get bit up by coyotes, i've seen her surrounded, and i didn't know which set of eyes to shoot at for fear of shooting her. Don't worry about a killing shot, just get a bullet in, and let nature take it's course, that way you don't need a shovel.....jsb

had a nice big bear coming in regular but after they came and stayed all week, he hasnt been back. i knew there were some wolves coming in there but found out after i put the camera on it that there were at least six different ones. and this is a pack that the DNR says doesnt exist! i wonder how many more thier official count has missed?

after the shittiest five days of bearhunting in my entire life (mostly because of the hot weather), including one of my dogs getting the shit tore out of her by a bear yesterday, my dads best dog got killed by wolves. i was five minutes too late getting to her and instead had to climb up a tree and watch them eat her. im so tired of all this bullshit. i dont know if i can even do it anymore.
