it wouldn't be my first choice but it doesn't take speed to kill game either. Around here we run them mostly in swamps, clearcuts, and rim rock ridges. so a smaller build seems to do better and not get as beat up in the brush, plus its easier for a smaller dog to keep the cat track between their feet in that that stuff and thats what i like in a cat hound.

So any hound crossed with bloodhound blood automatically makes it a Majestic?

no, they have to meet the standard. theres a breeder in iowa and one in w.v that what ever they breed is a majestic. thats a bunch of crap. i have not heard of one of these guys hounds being a complete hound. they do not even hunt. do your homework before you buy a majestic. it does not take long to figure out who is full of sh t.

Had a Bloodhound Black and tan given to me in the 90's. He was a dirty you know what breakin off off deer and elk. But when he started on the bear and lion look out he could drift a track faster than my Tant hounds. Only fault he had is treeing if he could not see it he lost intrest and went to look for something else to chase. If it bayed up on the ground he was suicidal he did not care what it was he attacked it.
