Thanks for sharing your pics of ridge. It's cool to go to the beginning of the post and see him as a pup and watch him progress to were he's at now. Also he's a real good looking hound.

Thanks Cosmo, Ridge is a really good handling dog, he is still just a started hound but each time out he is getting better, this last trip had him in some bear and lion rich country and he got a good chance to work really hard which he did.
Thanks again!

Good looking dog. How much game has he been on? You know I have never struck or treed a drag yet while out hunting, must be doing something wrong. There is only so much you can teach by using drags them you are going backwards. Let me tell you a story about a litter of pups we raised in the early 70's. My brotherinlaw lived on a ranch, great place to let a litter of pups grow up. By 6 months old working them on drags they would take a hour old drag trail and tree it. I thought I had the best young dogs out of good stock that were going to be cat dogs the easy way. By 2 years I culled everyone one of them. I had a lot of time into those pups, looking back I taught them what I did not want them to know. Be careful with drags or you will have the best drag dogs in the world. If you want to hunt drags that's OK, if you want to hunt lion or bobcats you might try hunting them. Dewey

Thanks for the input Dewey, that was just the first picture on here when Ridge was 10weeks old and I have just kept the thread going. He is getting plenty of time in the hills and might just make a hound yet.
