First tracking job of the year.....and she picked up right where we left off last season......This dog's nose is somethin special...put her on the first drop, and she was all business......I followed her through thickets that an entire Filson Double-Tin outfit would have trouble holding up against.......I'm darn proud of my tracker......

Good job Stan how far did you have to track that deer was it a bow or rifle shot? There is alot more bad shooters out there than good tracking dogs. There is also another websight called born to track news and views it has some real good info about tracking wounded game. Good hunting Frank D..

Frank......A double lung, archery hit......but, the entrance hole was way high on the shoulder, and the broadhead lodged in the other shoulder......so, one "high" hole for blood to escape..........it wasn't a very long trail......maybe 150 yards....but, it was through some real thick, nasty stuff.....lot's of zig-zagging....The track was only about 3 1/2 hours old....
Not a real tough track by any means, but practice makes perfect......

I've read "born to track" from top down...there is definitely some good info on there....

How's Pecos doing ??
