I don't know how the hell someone can get in trouble killing a gray wolf in the lower 48. They were never native here, our wolves were smaller timber wolves. If we can't introduce the Atlantic salmon in WA waters because they aren't the same species how can we allow the gray wolf to take the place of the timber wolf??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Very Very Very good question. Its like putting damn Bass in Trout Lakes, its illegal to do but someone had to do it in some lakes at some point. And when the bass get going they take out a LOT of the native species. The wolves are doing something very similar. They are an introduced species that is not native and takes over.

I would think you could kill everyone, the can't be endangered here if they were never here. Maybe if these wolves did kill a timber wolf here we could sue PETA for allowing their wolves to kill our endangered wolves. By the way there is a pack in the south Cascades in Washington the DFW wont admit it but everyone is seeing and hearing these wolves here.

we just got the smaller wolf species (Mexican Grey Wolf) back populating in my state. (az). Its awesome to hear the lone howl at night but its some scary crap when hunting my dogs. Aint ever going to be able to hunt them though.

What I don't understand is why is it that the mt. lion coyote is put on a managed predator plan but the one that is at the top of the food chain is looked at as a protected species? I do believe in controlling the amount of game and predators to a natural balance, But this is a joke what are our childern going to see death and wolves? Were are are tax dollars going and what is the goverment thinking listening to a group of people that has a lot of money and not one lick of nowledge of the balance of nature! We all done very well with out the wolf and I think we need to go back to that program. AMEN

Maybe Mr. White should ask for a DNA test, because I'm sure what he trapped was a ferrel dog.

Exactly, a guy back east got off because a DNA test proved the "wolf" was a hybrid.
I bet most reintroduced are hybrids.

The only problem is most of our wolves come from British Columbia and are not reintroduced, although they did find that some of the wolves were hybrids and some were pure. So really that wouldnt be a bad idea for him I guess.

Yeah I know hybrids arent protected because basically they are just a mutt dog. Yeah they acted like they were both guilty before it even went to trial. Lot of evidence stacked againist them but you are innocent until proven guilty. But thats never the case in America, everyone knows that..... :?
