Had a real good race today, found track about 7:30 this morning and finally found him out of the road about 8:00am. Turned Sonny, Millie and Trixy out after him. They crossed the canal and struck it off. Trailed about 1/4 mile and got after him. Cleared the bench and had 30-45 minutes of what a cat race should be. Rite beside the road in briars and bushes so thick a snake can hardley crawl. Ran him up a tree 25 yards from the road. Dogs treed good. punched out, end of race. Messed at trailing another but never really struck out of the road. Oh well maybe do better next time.

Man I wish I could have a good race like that Poon. I can not find one that will run. I went Sat. and trailed 2, one big cat trailed him to where the guys were deer hunting. Jumped a small sow cat ran about 10 minutes in a jungle you would think that she would have run longer than that didnt have but 9 dogs. My opinion want alot to it. Keep knockem out.

Nice job Poon!

He must have been a Heck of a Cat to last that long ahead of the "Black Power"!

Folkes, Poon raises his own line of Cat/Fox Hounds. They and he are the real deal! His Sonny is one nice Hound!

Keep em running!

I had my suspisions. First when he discribed the briar patch and them dogs preasurizing a bobcat enough to make him climb up out of that fortress. Then when I saw the names of his dogs beleive it or not. Sonny, Milly and Trixy are all historic bobcat dog names from the west coast.

So dang, Poon, I am sorry you had a bad day there. better luck next time :D

Jim, I have had a few good races in the last month. Hunting down in pamlico county. Probably the thichest ground I have ever been in. Mighty rough on the dogs and me as well. At least can have a good race in there. And, might not catch him. (mighty sorry dogs dogs had 2 to get away)
Bawl Mouth I do not understand your suspicions, what ya talking about?

sorry Poon, sometimes when I read what I wrote, I cant even figure out what it is supposed to mean.

I was just responding to Mr Clay letting us know you got some top dogs. I was suspicious they were top dogs with a top handler when your original post described the type stuff you hunt in and still catching the darn cat.

Hope that makes more sense. If it don't well, I guess I will just tell a story:

There was these two bobcat hunters that walked into a bar. That is kinda funny because you would think the second one would have seen it.

It's just me Poon. Sorry about that. :?

Keep the cat hunting stories coming. We love em
