HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL

We're back from treeing one, and getting ready to head off and do dinner with the family. Thought I'd share for those of you that didn't get to take the dogs out today.

Started off slow. Finally managed to get one goin and got everyone turned in. They were just grinding it out, not doin anything to exciting, barkin here and there. We realized after a bit Aspen had snuck out on us and was gone. It also came apparent that some of our more warmblooded dogs didn't want to stick around and help out - don't know what they decided to run (each other, deer, the list could go on) but they got picked up early headed a different way.

Aspen and one other dog managed to pull thru and get parked. Was about an hour and a half race start to finnish. Flat, short, brushy walk. Not the best tree for pics.

Nice bright red bear.

It sure was.

I've always hunted Thanksgiving day as long as I can remember. Well, and most every holiday or day off. Coming from a hunting family, and a boyfriend that hunts, from a hunting family, they understand.

Thanksgiving kinda has it's sentimental value now, it was the very last day I spent with my late Crash dog, before he was killed by a bear, 2 years ago. We treed a bear that Thanksgiving day, and that following Saturday he ran his final bear. I was at work at the time, so Thanksgiving of 2007 was the very last day I seen him alive.

It just shows me what progress I've made in those 2 years since loosing him. Its seemed like a long road.

I just wondered where you hunt ?west of I 5 or east of I-5?,Trinity,Klamath River area[Happy Camp] How would the hunting be on Donner or the American River area?

I just always wondered, when I lived in Fremont Ca. I hunted on the Indian Rev. [Hopi]
left in 96 lot bears up there then. Thank You.
