North Dakota's Game and Fish Department says a seventh mountain lion has been killed in the western part of the state.
The season will close there if eight mountain lions are killed before the end of March.
The western part of the state is considered Zone 1 during the season. The rest of the state, in Zone 2, has no quota and the season there is open to licensed North Dakotans through March 31.
The latest mountain lion taken in Zone 1 was a 2- or 3-year-old female weighing 86 pounds. Game officials say it was killed Saturday southwest of Alexander in McKenzie County.
