One we caught last week, pretty good tom. The guy that shot him earned him, it was a long way to the tree and some terribly steep terrain. We treed three females too, this is the only cat that was shot.

I forgot to put his weight on here. He was weighed in the evening the day after he was shot and he weighed 172lbs.

Kevin that's a lion anybody would be proud of. Good job and good job keeping that red tradition going in Montana.

The guy that shot the cat was very happy with it. He is an older gentelman and he lost 50lbs. so he could go on a lion hunt. It's a good thing he did because he probably wouldn't have made the tree otherwise. It was one of the toughest I've ever been to. The GPS showed the dogs treed almost two miles from the sleds and three ridges over. It was a lot farther on the ground and very steep. I drug the cat out the bottom through waist deep snow and deadfall for close to three miles and when I hit the road I was still about three miles from the pick-ups. This cat was definately hard earned. We started at daylight and by the time we got the people, the dogs, and the cat out it was dark. Tough day but a good one that I'll never forget.

Kevin, if that is the elderly gentleman holding up the cat then I must be an ancient old man in your eyes!  sounds like you guys really earned this cat.

Andy, that's me in the picture and I'm still wet behind the ears. I'm only 31. I forgot my camera was in my pack so this is the only picture I have from my buddy's phone. Thanks to all for the kind words and happy holidays to everyone.

Nice lion Kevin. Mark just sent me the picture not too long ago. That sounded like quite the hunt. That is sure bigger than anything that we have put up over here. Congrats.
