I got a rig mount Larsen 150 antennae and ran a co-ax with a connector to fit my Astro 220......worked great for a couple of months then all of sudden my Garmin went belly up.....is it possible this antennae set up damaged my Garmin? When I say belly up, it no longer could track a collar with either the rig mount antennae or flex antennae further then about 50 yards.

You probably broke the connector. I should know I did it to my first one.

Try putting your small antenna on, have the astro in one hand, try to move/wiggle the base of the antenna with other hand. If it moves even a little this is probably your problem (it was with mine). If you do send it to garmin for repair (hopefully it's under a year old, for free warranty work) play dumb (I didn't have to "play" dumb

) don't tell them about your use of the other antenna or anything else. Just tell them it quit tracking over 50 yards and you don't know why. Hope this helps.

Coons- Visit the New garmin policy thread. I went over this in detail there. The short version. If you used a truck radio with that antenna. You blew it up. If not ther is the possiblity of breaking the connection. Easy way to check is without an antenna connected to try to wiggle the connector. It wiggles than most likely broken. Still read that thread.
