Just wondering how most people figure how many cats a dog has been on. If you read that a 3 yr. old dog has been on 60 cats. Does that mean that this dog has been turned loose on 60 tracks or that he has seen 60 cats in a tree? IMO it means there should be 60 pictures of "different lions" in the dog owners photo collection.

raxntrax,

We have learned that Hound Speak is a language all its own!

Hound Seller or Trader are dialects of Hound Speak that are somewhat like Martian! The Speaker always knows the meaning and hopes you don't.

You may not really want to be able to translate either!

Raxntrax,

You must read between the lines in MOST cases. But 60 lions should = in the tree, dont be afraid to ask that question if buying a dog. If the buyer is upset at your questions walk from the deal, There is also a big difference from a dog that has to have company to get the job done or can do it by itself, I am not saying by no means that the do it yourself dog doesnt need help sometimes also.

i would consider when you say a dog has been on a track that it was a track that was catch able . if you run a track and it get away because of a bluff or it is heading for a highway and you catch the dogs dosnt meen you didnt run a track . i think if you have a jump than you had a race. jmo

raxntrax, don't get caught up in hearing how many cats a dog has been on. If you are looking at buying a dog, hunt with it and see if it is what you are looking for. There is more to a hound then how many cats or game they have seen. Good luck.

Poser is right on. I have seen dogs that have been on 20 lions that were better than dogs that have been on 3 times that.
