At the time i am a avid coonhunter, with my job , family life and going back to college its hard to run the hills all night then do all the above. Plus my dad isnt able to walk the woods and i would like to hunt something that he could enjoy, i was thinking more on the lines of foxhunting, building a fire and setting around all night, plus it would give me time to study away from the noisy house. We have plenty of coyotes , we are running over with them, i would like to set up a feeder or something to attract foxes back in my area but really dont know how, also how can i get my dogs on running foxes, no one around here hunts foxes anymore so i cant train them with foxhounds.

if there is that many yotes around why do you want to run fox? yotes are just as much fun. do you know if your dogs will run fox or yotes? if they do then just free cast them. if not find a coyote pen near you and see what they will do.

I had thought about running coyotes but didnt know how they run, i had thought about free casting them but i would like to have a designated place were i could drive my dad to , drop hounds get a race and start cooking, thats why i was wondering about feeders.

the reason you don't have many fox is the coyotes. They don't get along very well the coyote isn't good at sharing his area. The coyotes are more fun to chase they never go in a hole. Any questions send me a e-mail

if you would like stop by my site, it`s mostly a yote hunting site for houndsmen. i`m sure we would be able to answer some of your questions. as for a feeder i use road kill deer, it seems to work the best. if the yotes are hitting it, just take a houndin and free cast him. but remember that a yote will run a long way, make sure you have tracking collars on them.

You and your daddy can meet lots of fox hunters at he fox pen and they have pennens all the timeright out of Parris Tn. Also find ya a long brushy ridge rd no houses no fences just foothill brushy ridge thats at least 5 miles long. Get ya a bag of popcorn shucks and slowly drive that road by night and leave a trail of popcorn shucks all along it. Repete ever 3 ed night for a couple of weeks and you will start seeing all kinds of fox tracks apearing in the dirt road. Then get yaa varmitt tape and play it through your car and over a speaker and wait a while quietly/ cast your dogs andhave built up a barrell fire of wood with a grate over it .I kind of think youll hear your dogs runnen fox or cyote and ya cn listen till dawn, or too when a blow that hunters horn and call em in too the truck by the kept fire !Land Between the Lakes and Calhound Hill is between Cadiz Ky. and Arurra Ky. and between Dover Tn. about 60,000 acs of park and use land too hunt in .
