My 7 month walker ( my first hound) is doing really well with all the drags and running caged coons. I don't have anyother dogs or access to any other dogs that are quality to run her with I was wondering when a good time would be to take her and try her on a lion track? I think the odds are stacked against me but I will give it hell trying to help her as much as I can

Anytime is a good time to put a dog on a lion track I say! You might have to walk her down it and keep pointing it out to her, but that is how a dog is made. Just work her on it and praise her when she shows interest. Some dogs will take right to it, some will take awhile for it all to come together. Don't get frustrated and pull her off just keep going down it and helping her out. If you have daylight to burn you may even get lucky and jump the lion while you are doing this. That is how you make a lionhound with a single pup. Remember to praise her with every effort she makes! Pups are like kids they excell with positive praise!

Have fun and good luck!

Hey thanks for the help. I was wondering where you are located? I am on the south end of the Big Horns on the east side.
