Awesome pictures.

You are lucky that you didn't have dead dogs. Once you experience dead or severly mauled dogs in those types of situations you will never leave your dogs unleashed long enough to take pictures.

Mike, you are lucky......lucky those dogs didn't stretch that lion. Then you would have had to burn that $26.00 lion tag on a female.

Awesome pics buddy. I got your txt and pics, just haven't been able to get caught up with you yet.

Get them dogs back out there and do it again. Those scars just add a lil character to them dogs.

Thanks for postin, jason

I needed Truck, I think he would have taught that girl a little respect. When are you headed this way, I've got huntin to do and I'm down dogs for a few weeks? Lilly should be OK in a week or two, but Girly is out six weeks. Hears another of Lilly and Josie's first scars. She is going to be a good one along with Cherry. I pulled her and Girly back got a couple pics and got the hell out of there.

Got out on Saturday after a tough night in the saloon and the hunting gods were good, and bad to me. Found a track and roaded the dogs into it,the pups fired on it first and started moving it up the hillside and before long they were moving it on one twisted trail. After a bit the track lines out towards some ledges and the dogs were gone. I think they had her bayed up for some time while we were headed in, and then I saw the cat running down below us with the dogs not to far behind. She ran over into a rock pile and they had her, with both pups hammering away like they knew what they were doing. Just as we walked up I heard the maylay happen and one of the pups come running out shaking her head. I pulled the dogs out of the hole snapped a couple quick pics and got out of there. Only after getting down to the truck did I realize the damage and headed for the vet. $900.00 dollars later and a few good pics, and I'm down for a few weeks. Can't catch a break even when I'm doin good.

I'm still getting a$$ chewings from the wife. The girls are doing pretty good, you can't tell by their actions that anything even happened, but they got some dandy scars. Here are some pics before this happened. If the trees look big, that's because I was in Utah, but they figured out how to climb them damn trees too. :x

As you can see, I had a pretty good weekend in Utah. The cats seem to be a little cuddlier that the last one I ran into. Here is a pic of that Poser fella and the ledges he walked me into. Good thing his dogs were wore out, mine damn near could keep up with them to see how to tree something.

At least someone is seeing cats in the tree.I got all this land here and can't hunt on pubilc ground but on some ranches where the onwers call you up it's sweet.Cause only two government hunters here it's nice. It's nice when you cut meat for the ranchers and there hunters you get a place to hunt. And with the 100 years of the Pendleton Roundup coming up you got a open invite anytime and a open kennel here anytime. That's cool Mike keep it up

Mike, good to have you down buddy. Glad you brought down some real hounds to show us how to catch game. Our dogs weren't wore out, all they have been doin is settin on the chain, we were just too embarrassed to show you our dogs.

I'll have Truck back to you in a couple of weeks. Looks like you could use a dog or two right now. Might have to send out my whole pack if you could afford to feed them. Cracked eye sockets doesn't sound good.

The roughest hound i've seen was Kim Payne's Peach dog. She had been worked over by a bear in a hole. She had a nub of a left ear and a lopsided, dented skull. She was eventually killed by a bear the following year, amazing she even wanted to chase them again after that. I've got some old 8mm video of her, i'll see if i can get some pics.

Hope that things get better for you out there, jason
