I know we all want to be out hunting every day. So I was wondering how often do some of you guys get out and really hunt? Do you count by the week, month, day or year? How long does it take for your dogs to get rusty or a little trashy.

I try to hunt at least 10 days a month. And my dogs are always trashy .

I try to get out as much as possible. I get out at least 3 to 4 times a week. During bear season I am out 5 days a week. Home on sundays. I run coon, lion, and bear. My dogs hold up pretty well every now and again we get some sore feet. Especially in this crappy icey snow.

We go at least 3 days a week. If theres no time I will at least take them out for a run on the quad. Bear season I can barely keep a job!! (I have actually lost one to it)

During lion season I hunt five to six days a week, or until the dogs can't go any more. Was the same with bears but probably not this year since Utah changed the pursiut season.

I normally hunt between 3 and 5 days a week. It depends on the season.

I hunt 5 days a week for sure, and when im not huntin 5 days a week I take them on a trainier. atleast 2 tyms a week. . . in my opinion the key to keep dogs from being trashy is keep them tuned up. just my two cents.

I live in WI and I try to run the dogs on bears 3-5 days a week from july 1st until the end of August then they rest for a week or so and I hunt them for about 30 days straight, the length of our bear season. Then they get to rest from mid oct. until we get snow then it is bobcat hunting from say dec1st until dec 31st and I try to hunt on average 3 days a week. I work swing shift so I can hunt no mater what shift I am on, I just get less sleep some days.

As for a job I take all my vacation during bear season and cat season. And I pay for the gas.

If im lucky I get 8-10 days a month to hunt. March is my farvorite time to hunt so i take a lot of vacation then. Some of my dogs sit for two weeks and they get trashy, thank god for tri-tronics

Man give a guy some advice here. How do you get the wife or girlfriend to pay the bills!

I hunt about 4 or 5 days a week on average all year long. I dont take a break during any particular months or time of year, I just adjust what time of day or night that I go. In about another month or so I will be mostly just hunting at night until next late fall or winter and then back to day time. When it gets real hot I will be out between 2 and 3 in the morning until I gotta get to work at 0700.

I work a rotating 4 on 4 off work schedule. the first 2 are day shifts 6 am to 6 pm the second 2 are night shifts 6pm to 6 am. I usually hunt 3 of my four days off and on my 24 hour period between by days and nights. It give the dogs just enough rest to pretty much be able to run hard every day I can hunt. My boss first wife and now second wife regret ever meeting/hiring me!

I make good money and I'm always broke trying to feed dogs buy gas and keep the family at bay! thank god I like sleeping in my truck.

Right now I don't seem to get out as much as I want to. I own my own businesses and am working towards "buyin myself more time" so I can hunt more as my pack gets older. I think if I play my cards right 3-4 days a week will be very possible in the next year or so....Just gotta ge the right employees...I have 9 now and I need about 25

During bear training season July 1st to the end of August 3-5 days a week, but once kill season comes around we get really busy at work, but usually still make it out 2-4 days a week. The first part of December I hunt weekends and have the last 2 weeks of December off for Bobcat season. January 1st till the snow melts 2-5 days a week depending on snow conditions.

So do ya'll have jobs? I worked a deal where I get paid a years wage over 10 months, the 2 months off are right in the middle of cat season. I am also flexible enough to take off whenever the opportunities are good.
