Jake treed a decent tom for this area today ran 95lbs. I live where a big deer is 80lbs and a large male lion is 120lbs, not everyone can live where they top 200lbs
Anyhow my dad took this lion partialy because it was close to the house, treed only 400 yards up hill from the orchard.

- Jake treed on a male lion and the person in orange is my dad 74 and can still make it to a lion tree

Good job on the cat! most of those stories about 200 lb cats are people talking up 120 lb cats to be 200lbs. I have had a few lions make it high in the record books. judging the pics I could have easy called them 200lbs, but one was 168 and one was 187. the other fifty or so dead toms I have seen on the ground could have passed in pics as 150+ were all 120-130 lb cats. it's just like 400" elk. everybody sees a 400" elk everytime they go to the mountain and see a 350" plus elk. congrats!!!!

120 or 200lbs... I don't think it matters how big the lion was or even if you treed a lion for that matter...your dad was with you and that is worth all the lions for a season or two..but you got it and that adds to the memory for sure.....
Cherrish the time you and your father can go run a lion and work the hounds, time goes by way to fast!!!!!!
I like seein photos of lions caught in country with no snow......fellas like you ,Mike Leonard and others that run DRY GROUND and catch lions earn every one, hounds like those and you guys that hunt that type of country impress me..
Keep that pup workin.
Congratulations
Good Hunting
Brent
PS: There are very few places left that I know of where you can catch an honest 150lb.+ lion and fewer where they tip the scale over 180!!!!
