Nogie's first lion

Before you ask what a Nogie is, it is my boy Logan's nickname. He's eight and has been on many an unfruitfull lion hunt in his day, I about pulled his plug on tha last little jaunt and it took those boys from Vermont coming out and hunting to turn him back around. You see, he gets a little irritated at dad for not killing anything. Those Vermont boys were a blast and we got one on the second day in crappy melting conditions. Well the conditions haven't improved, but I've been putting a few up the last few weeks, so I decided to get some pics up. I didn't get any photo's of last thursday's hunt, except on my phone, but I put two up that day, and this one was Sunday with perfect conditions. Heck I'll throw some in of last Saturday and tell you it was Thursday.Anyhow here goes.

And before you get all high and mighty, I ran this little guy clear to the top of the mountain and three days later he was right back where Nogie and I caught him again. The bad thing is, he was only about a hundred yards from a ranch house and fifty yards from the cows calving. I get to hunt on this ranch and have an agreement. Anyhow, it was a young tom, which helped the decision, and Nogie gets a fur on his wall. Now here are a couple pics from last weekend. By the way, Sunday's cat I caught with just my pups and Truck he is just over a year and a half. Jason's peach even got in on this one and Thursday's double.

Where's the pics from your weekend? I play around with these young ones and you chase around the Toms. Chase one over to me would ya? Oh, and I can't wait till those two boy's are hiking those tracks out, and we are picking them up on the sleds, after a nap ofcourse.

Good job Mike!
Don't let chasing toms sound TOO inviting. I turned loose yesterday at 1 pm on a nice lion track. Got skunked. Cut the track again this morning about 5 miles and 2 or 3 canyons away. It was nice and fresh. Broken throught the snow, still little snow balls sitting on top that hadn't even thawed and re froze yet. PERFECT. Well 4 hours later, no track, dogs that couldn't get find the track going again, and nothing caught. Trust me them toms aren't what you think they are
Later,
Marcial
