For you coyote hunters that have been there and done it. It seems everybody has included snow as a big part of your sucess when it comes to yote hunting with hounds.

How many out there are still pursueing when the snows gone and are you just pursueing or are you still catching?

Jedd, on dry ground, are your dogs catching and killing the yotes or are you shooting them in front of the dogs?

I've found the running is just as good on bare ground as snow if the ground has some moisture in it. We catch some on bare ground but you also got to figure it's easier going for the coyote then it is in deep snow.

we have been running on bare ground the last few weeks,we love it,mostly shoot them in front of the dogs, but they do catch one once in a while, but not as much as on snow,we got 2 this weekendand lost one in the water.

most yrs. we have snow yet when season ends. this yr snow went fast no major storms like we usually get. still running on bare ground we free cast the hounds. when snow is on the ground our crew splits up looking for tracks and we are usually sure the yote is in the block where we dump our hounds in our kill hound died a few yrs. ago hounds will bay for us. 39 is our total so far with only a few days left of the season. all killed in frount of the hounds.

only thing snow does is help us to run quicker. find a track and put the jump dogs on. we have just as much success on bareground
