Redtick is a color. English is the breed.

Redtick is just a color variation of the English breed. They also come in Bluetick, Tri-tick, Red & White, and Tri Color.

Blueticks and Walkers originated from the English breed, not the other way around. If you bred an English to a Wallker or Bluetick, or if you bred a WalkerXBluetick cross, you can single register the dog as English in UKC, because, in theory, they are still the same breed, just different colors.

My buddy has two redbone/bluetick crosses.
The whole litter looks like redticked english dogs, nice lookin dogs.
The red almost always dominates in a breeding, same with people.
