check your state regulations , but i like to use a 220 conibear on culverts or even a 330. Is the culvert dry or is there water running through it? You can also try a cinder block sitting inside the pipe with a piece of sod turned upside down with the trap placed on it. Wire the chain off to the block.

My buddies and i want to make a culvert trap for bear.. Catch one and see if it is big enough.. If not let 'em go. I am going to try to leg snare one this year... wish me luck.
