Nice to see AZ getting in on this. Colorado is talking about it now. New Mexico is about 10 yrs ahead of both of them. You have to wonder why the individual states are allowed to be so radically different, when it comes to Lion management.

Arizona has done poulation/density/travel/diet research in the past. Harley Shaw has a book about it, as well as his reports on file. For you folks that think a study that you pay for with your license fees will be a good thing, you need to study the biased results of New Mexico's study. The people that conduct the studies have their own agendas, and it doesn't necasarily include feasable harvests.

Way more than anyone could ever imagine!

Do you suppose that Mtn. Lions actually prey on wild sheep?LOL!
Do lions actually prefer sheep over all else once they get a taste for it?
Maybe sheep are extremely easy for lions to kill?

Why spend 10 million $$$ to substantiate a lion removal program?

Oh yeh, I know...let's just jump around randomly, spending hunters dollars, chasing the paper tiger anti's whims. Yeh, that will work! And create some more nice Gov't. jobs for friends to boot.
