Idaho Lion Hunt!

Well we went up for the first time this season and ended up catching a small Tom. Cut the track about 3:30 am and it was about a day old. this track was also covered in deer tracks and really didn't fill like having a trash race right of the get go. We made the decision to try and cut a little better track since the conditions were good and ended up not seeing anything else. we came back to the track around 1:30 pm and started walking it out and ended up jumping this cat off its kill. after that we had him treed in about 20min. Not a bad way to start off the season. You can check out some of this video and Pic. on my web page

Thanks, I'm heading your direction at the end of the month. My brother and cousion said that you all got a good coverage of snow this weekend! should make for some fun.

I noticed the bells on the dogs [Rigging] does the bell stop the wolf attacks? what I mean can you tell the differance.

Honestly the bells don't do anything in the winter. Most of the time they get snow pack or frozen and you can't hear them. I have them on their for bear hunting in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Just adds more noise to the mess and makes for better locating when you got a lost pup or a dog log jammed up somewhere. All and All I like them.

The thought that Idaho doesn't have brush is a myth. Some of the brushiest, steepest country a guy will see is in Idaho. Sure there are some spots that are open. The bears seem to head towards the brushy hillsides. I was born and raised in Washington and acknowledge that the brush is bad but its no worse than Idaho, Texas, or Utah (coon hunting). As far as overall bad brush, Texas wins because their bad brush is full of spiders and snakes that can kill you.
