If your neighbor's lab is anything like mine if the cat stopped to fight it would be dead. Two years ago I had a bobcat jump on top of Buddy (blacklab mix) and he proceeded to kill it. I was predy sure this cat had rabies or something because thats just not normal for a bobcat around 25lbs to try kill a dog weighing 90+lbs.

I had let the dogs out to chase a cat I saw near the fence eyeing my guinea fowl. Two of my dogs ran off like they had the scent and Buddy was just sniffing around the area. He rounded a bush and out popped the cat right onto his back only 5 feet from me. So I saw all the action Buddy was barly marked with just a few claw marks and a bite on top of his head.

Labs are accualy predy tuff and all that loose skin and fur protects them fairly well.

A neighbor about 2 miles from the house, turned his lab out to clean out. He ran into a lion crossing the property and was going to kill him. Long story short. The lab took over 100 stitches to sew him back together.
