Lost telemetry signal? A friend had a dog come back from a bear run without his tracking collar and is not getting a signal. Would being under water or under ground be the cause? The other obvious one would be that someone removed and took it. :?:
Thanks Terry

Those tracking collars are funny. Two years ago was beeping my dog like crazy and then all the sudden nothing. Several hours of nothing. Then started again. He had just gotten into a hole that wouldnt let the signal out. If that collar came off him it might of fallen in between some rocks etc. I had a wildlife come off while coon hunting. I tracked it down and found it in a ditch covered by 2 foot of water. You also hear stories of gators eating dogs and the collar still working in the gator allthough those could just be stories. Or somebody could of pulled you collar and stole it. Lots of people know about tracking collars now and know they are worth money on Ebay etc.

I kind of lean towards it having gotten caught in a hole since that's the only way i have lost collars but I would have thought there would still be a signal since the country is not that big or rough. The bear broke it? that would sure add value to the dog lol. Thanks for the ideas.

Maybe a tree hugger removed and then smashed it? It has happened around here before..

hippies were bad in northern ca for takeing collars off if they are the changeable battery style it dont take a rocket scientist to figure out how to make them stop.
