The first of May I was in east Texas. The Sandies, Stripers, and Hybrids were tearing it up. The first morning there were four of us and in 3 1/2 hours we kept our limit of 25 each, and threw back around 60. The second morning there were three of us and in 2 1/2 hours we kept 70 and threw back around 45. I brought back between 5 and 6 gallons of filets.
The first week in August I am headed to Pagosa Springs to eat some fresh trout.

On the weekend of the 25th of June, hiked into a mountain lake with my eight year old son and a buddy. Took us two hours to hike in because of all the snow. Lake was open but had ice chunks floating on it. Caught a bunch of cutthroats. Nothing big but fun none the less. Hiked into another lake on the next day and the lake was still froze over. Wouldn't think it would of been the week before the Fourth. Gonna head back on Wednesday to that second lake as it should be open by now with the warm weather we are getting.

I've taken the kids a few times this summer. We got to see a pair of baby otters that let us get right up to them. The next trip we got to see a flock of geese attack a bear swimming the lake. I put the boat rather close to the bear and the kids loved it. The wife didn't like how close we were when I showed her the picture tho. If I could figure out how to get my phone pictures to the internet I'd post it. We've caught a few trout and blue gill. The kids love having shore lunch. It's the only time I can get them to eat fish. I can't stand fishing long when it's hot thou.

I mostly steelhead fish, but recently i went fishing for muskie and caught one. I'm gonna give it another shot this weekend. I saw some fish that were 45 inches plus, but the one we got was only about 30".

Couple of bass on the 6" injected punker

Getting about one fish a trip from the shore best went about 6lbs. I would normally do better with 2-3 fish per trip but the conditions have been tough (wind and stained water) Things are good now so hope to do better if I can get out.
