Folks,

As many of you may already know, It's with regret that I mention Herb Kennedy Passed away last Wednsday of Cancer. "Pappa Black" as many know him from the Events and field trials was a Nice, and Kind man, he just loved a good hound.

I often think about Him, and His way of life and what he has lived through. A Black Man in the Country life of the Northwest, A houndsman at that. He surely stuck out, but he was accepted and be-friended and accepted by many many Houndsmen across the country. Although I didn't always agree with him, (Perhaps Like his Presidential Pick ) But I could respect how important that was for him, A man that has seen so much, to see a Black president, And I was happy for him to experience that in his life time.

I Greatly appreciated Him and the time I got to spend with him, a few weeks ago, I was visiting with him, and got to see some of his photo's. It was a neat experience down memory lane, and makes a guy think that the love of Dogs knows no boundaries.

RIP Herb, We will miss you.

Very sad to hear of Herb's passing. Met him 12 or so years ago at a nite hunt. He ended up coming down to S. Or. to buy a dog. He came down several times after that with Jordan and we some good hunts. That man loved hounds and could wear me out talking about them. I considered Herb a good friend. He always made me smile.

Thanks for posting Buddy. I'll be there.

I'm so bummed...talked more then we ever have at the Prineville field trials and a litter mate pup I have to a pup he has--asked me what I would sell him for and told him let me work with my pup some more and meet up in Ukiah next month. He even remembered my grandson from Ukiah the year before and commented on how big he is now...I didn't know him 'well'...but the few years in trials of being around him--I am sad.
My thoughts are with those of you that knew him better then I did...God blessed me for the last time I saw him and a chance to visit with more!

I was very upset when I learned of Herbs passing, he was such a kind man. He will be greatly missed by me and my family. I loved hanging out with him around the campfire at the trials, just to listen to his stories and such. His family is in my prayers, this world was definately a better place because of herb. I will try to get to his funeral, thanks Buddy for posting this.

Well I am planning on going to the funeral, Im able to catch a ride with a friend in a little car, Its a long drive but oh so worth it, for such a wonderful man! Hope to see alot of you guys there
