we run everything with dogs in eastern North Carolina. all the state land is open to hunting with hounds. bear, hogs, deer, coons you name it, if it can be hunted with hounds somebody in NC does it. the public lands around my area have hogs and there are some more in other parts of the state but i am not very familiar with them.

i dont know much about down there, i am in the north eastern part of the state. here is alink that shows the locations of the public land and gives you some details about each one. the only problem with it is hogs are a non game species in all but three counties so they dont list them as available game but you can hunt them any where outside of those three counties any time of year. the gamelands that we hunt is the Alligator River game lands. not only does it have hogs, it has the highest concentration of bears on public land that you can bear hunt with hounds. some of the gamelands are bear sanctuaries.

here in arkansas the game and fish beg us to kill kill kill when it comes to the hogs, but they wont let us run our hog dogs on public land. it works out pretty well for me because the state land is just safe breeding grounds for the hogs. they breed and then pour out into the surrounding lands.

You can hunt dogs here in Alabama for hogs on open public state and national forest lands but not on WMA 'S {wildlife management area's}.
