Anybody ever strike a wild dog?

Post by tomtom »

When I was a youngster we struck/jumped what an old timer called a wolf. Well, as you know, lots of old timers call yotes a wolf. The dogs were booger barkin like they didn't really want to catch it. My old man kinda looked confused about why this old timer remarked that they had jumped this "wolf". After all, that's what we were chasin. Anyway, these two "wolves" came into view and they were HUGE. One was maroon and the other was black. My dad and this old man said it was time to load the dogs up so we did. Never thought much of it til I was older and I asked my dad about it and he said they were hybrid yotes and domestic dogs. Anybody ever run anything like that?

Run one, I used to own one. lol. She looked and acted just like a coyote, except she was bigger and was a dark amber color. I didn't really own her. she just hung around. Took months of leaving food out to even be able to touch her. But she would't let you really pet her. She moused and grubbed around the pasture and yard just like a coyote. Pretty cool actually. Around here we call em coydogs.
If only I could be the man, my dogs think I am.
