Been doing some reading on here and seems that your not supposed to get the 2 close together? Also, read something about smoking the 220 band collars with these radios?

Can someone show me the light? :beer

It burns up the unit and you'll have to send it back in to have fixed. Garmin's website tells you not to get them close to each other or this will happen. Personnally, I won't let anyone near my 220 with any kind of radio. Why take the chance.

My buddy broke his 220 after just a few times having a radio on around it. but before I knew that that could happen I had my 220 clipped on my pack with my radio right next to it for a entire season and never had a problem. But I wouldn't chance it, once i found out I quit using the radio or made sure the 220 was off if I was going to turn the radio on.

It's just the high wattage radios that are a problem. You can transmit on 5 or 10 watts without any issue. And even then it only seems to happen when you use the external antenna with the garmin.

We use them side by side all the time and don't have any issues. We just bump down to low when we turn on the astro.
