ferjr, don't pay any attention to him. He has no respect for anyone, doesn't contribute anything to this site and constantly tries to stir up trouble. Which works out fine because no one has any respect for him either.

Buddy has a link on the home page that lists a bunch of books about hound hunting. So far I have read,

The Longwalkers by Jerry Lewis
Call of the Hounds by Del Cameron
Lion Tales by John Kibler
Ben Lilly Legend by Frank Dobie
Walk with Wick Volume I by John Wick
Hunting Grizzlys, Black Bears, and Lions Big Time by Will F. Evans
Dynamics of Hound Training by Vickie Lamb
Great Wyoming Bear Stories by Tom Reed
Great Montana Bear Stories by Ben Long
Cat Attacks by Jo Deurbrouch & Dean Miller
Hiking with Grizzlies by Tim Rubbert
Soul Among Lions by Harley Shaw
Forest Cats of North America by Jerry Kobalenko
Hunting American Lions by Frack C. Hibben
Walk with Wick Volume II by John Wick
Making Tree Hounds Pay Off by Claude Miller

I am currently reading,

Bobcats before Breakfast by John Kulish
Bobcat Master of Survival by Kevin Hansen
Meet Mr. Grizzly by Montague Stevens
Slash Ranch Hounds by Dub Evans
Roping lions in the Grand Canyon by Zane Grey
Hunting American Bears by Frack C. Hibben
The American Trail Hound by Fred Streever
Cougar Killer by Jay Bruce

I have a large list of all the book titles I have found. I have purchased from Amazon, Abebooks, High Lonesome books, and on Ebay. Just figured out what I wanted to read and started doing internet searches.

My theory is hunt as much as possible and fill your free time reading what others have done.

Meet Mr. Grizzly by Montague Stevens is an extremely entertaining book.
The Life and Times of Ollie Barney is also an excellent read.
It catches some flack now and then on here, but History of American Lion Hunting by Wiley Carroll is filled with useful knowledge and good stories.
