What does everyone know about Red Plotts? Strenghts, weaknesses, etc. I'd like to get a walker/plott cross and I really like the looks of the Red Plotts.

Not sure what you mean by red plott, but if it's a plott then it's a plott regardless of what color it comes in. look at the lines of the dog and what they do instead of the color. then cross it with a walker and shoot it in a year.

Everyone says that this is a "red" plott. I'm more on the "orange" side of that debate but, anyways here's a picture of one. As with anything it's not so much the color as the breeding. I agree the red or orange (which ever) is easy on the eyes. I have a female just identical to him and am hoping to pick up another red/orange female in a week or so. If they turn out I will breed to him and the male beside this one.

are you referring to a red type solid looking buckskin dogs. I have seen these dogs in the upper northwest part fo the country, but these dogs didnot have brindle in them look more like redbones or curs and those that had them referred to them as redplotts.... (I think they may have plott in them but not 100%)

Solid buckskin is a true plott color, only registerable through akc, uck doesn't recognize the color. The national plott association had a vote a number of years ago and they were voted out because it was felt to many were breeding redbones to get the color. Actually one of the main reasons for the formation of the american plott association is for that color.
