the garmin astro burns the hell out of batteries as most of you know. i have been using these energizer ultimate lithium in mine, they are expensive but well worth it. they are by far the best batteries i have ever used, i have had them last in my garmin for four to five days, being left on for about eight hours a day without having to change out the batteries, others i have tried you might get about one eight hour day before having to changing out. i also believe this helps with the range, i have noticed when the battery meter starts to go down so does the range. to me the garmin seem to work better when opperating with these batteries. just my opinion, but you might want to give them a try.

I've been using them and they are super long lasting. The package say's they last 8 times longer, that seems about right.

They are the best batteries you can buy in my opinion, still waiting for costco to sell them again. I think they came in a pack of 16 and was twenty bucks. With regular batteries our garmin would eat them up quick especially at night when we used the light. I also use these in my flashlights too way brighter and last a long time.
