just recieved my link to the odfw web site. the news release is looking good.

odfw staff is scheduled to bring the draft rules to the fish and wildlife commission for rule adoption during the february 4 2011 meeting in salem.

PROPOSED NEW RULES WILL END THE PROHIBITIONS....( BIRD NESTING RULE APRIL- JULY.....GONE)

NOW HERE IS YOUR CHANCE AS A HOUND HUNTER TO DO YOUR PART....

odfw is still accepting comments on this topic....please submit a simple and to the point comment supporting hound hunting and the elimination of the bird nesting rule on or before january 20, 2011 deadline. i'm sure this will be met with the usual opposition and all we need to do is flood the commission with our support.....send to.... odfw.comments@state.or.us: ........thanks

Thanks, Mike for posting that. If anyone has a stupid computer like mine that isn't set up right to put that clickable link into an e-mail, then just copy the link and paste it in your usual e-mail 'TO' field.

ODFW keeps tallies of how many people respond to an issue and what their opinion is. IE: 46 agree with eliminating nesting bird rules, 52 want no dogs off leash where there might possibly be birds, 13 say all hunting should be illegal, etc.

The note can be very, very brief, "I agree hounds should be able to be off leash year around" "I agree with ODFW proposed change to end nesting birds rules", as long as your point is there.
